2013 Canada Seven-Coin Fine Silver Proof Set

$199.95

Available

2013 Royal Canadian Mint fine silver proof set, seven coins in .9999 silver with the gold-plated Arctic Expedition dollar.

The Royal Canadian Mint's fine silver proof set for 2013, seven coins struck in 99.99 percent silver and presented in the mint's leather book case with the certificate and the outer sleeve. Total silver across the set is 63.2 grams, an actual silver weight of 2.03 troy ounces. The commemorative dollar marks a century since the Canadian Arctic Expedition of 1913, showing the party and their dog team beneath a compass rose, with selective gold plating over the design. The loon dollar and the polar bear two dollars are gold-plated as well; the fifty, twenty-five, ten and five cents are plain fine silver with the arms of Canada, the caribou, the Bluenose and the beaver. There is no cent in this set. Canada struck its last one-cent piece in 2012, so 2013 is the first year the set runs from five cents up. Issue price was 229.95 Canadian dollars against a worldwide mintage of 25,000 sets. The certificate of authenticity and the printed specification card are both present.
