A Canadian silver dollar struck for the eleventh Commonwealth Games, held at Edmonton in the summer of 1978. Composition is .500 fine silver at 23.33 grams, an actual silver weight of 0.375 troy ounce.
The reverse sets the Games symbol at the centre inside a ring of sport pictograms, with XI GAMES XI JEUX COMMONWEALTH 1978 EDMONTON around. The obverse carries the Machin portrait.
The coin is bright and untoned with frosted devices against mirrored fields. Shown in the capsule and with the capsule seated in its clamshell case, as issued.
