Collect Lincoln — Historical Collectibles

About us

Material that was actually there

Collect Lincoln handles nineteenth-century American historical material: coinage, struck medals, Civil War tokens, signed letters and documents, campaign ferrotypes and ribbons, obsolete currency, and the printed ephemera that surrounded all of it. Most of what we list predates 1900.

How pieces are described

Each listing states what the piece is, what condition it is in, and where it came from when that is known. Where a chain of ownership is incomplete or an attribution is probable rather than certain, the listing says so in those words. Photographs are of the actual item — never a stock image or a reference example.

Authenticity

Everything sold carries an unconditional lifetime guarantee of authenticity. If a piece is ever shown not to be genuine, it is refunded in full, with no time limit and no requirement that you were the original buyer. Third-party certification is noted on the listing where it exists.

Returns and shipping

Any piece may be returned within fourteen days for any reason, including simply not liking it in hand. Items ship insured for the full purchase price and are packed for archival transit. Return shipping on a change of mind is the buyer's; on anything we described incorrectly, it is ours.

The sold archive

Sold pieces stay on the site permanently, prices included. Collectors and researchers use past sales as comparables, and removing them would quietly make the market harder to read.
