1999 Canada Eight-Coin Sterling Silver Proof Set
$189.95
Available1999 Royal Canadian Mint proof set, eight coins with six struck in sterling silver, in the green mint case.
The Royal Canadian Mint's proof set for 1999, eight coins in the green leatherette case with the mint's gilt plaque on the cover. Six of the eight are sterling silver at 92.5 percent: the commemorative dollar, the two dollars, and the fifty, twenty-five, ten and five cents. Together they hold 52.7 grams of pure silver, an actual silver weight of 1.69 troy ounces.
The commemorative dollar marks 225 years since Juan Perez sighted the Queen Charlotte Islands, dual-dated 1774-1999, and shows his ship under sail. The two dollars is sterling with a 24 karat gold-plated inner core carrying the polar bear. The loon dollar is the ordinary nickel electroplated with bronze and the cent is bronze, so those two are the only base-metal pieces in the set.
The printed specification card is present. The case is scuffed along one edge and at the corners; the coins inside are untouched.
