The commemorative dollar marks the centennial of the City of Vancouver and the arrival of the first transcontinental passenger train, dual-dated 1886-1986, with a locomotive at the terminus and the modern skyline behind. It is .500 fine silver at 23.33 grams, an actual silver weight of 0.375 troy ounce.
This is a double dollar set: the silver commemorative and the nickel voyageur dollar both appear, with cent, five, ten, twenty-five and fifty cents filling out the tray, all struck as proofs.
