1893 World's Columbian Exposition Manhattan Day Ticket No. 448110
$75
AvailableNew York City's day at the fair, October 21, 1893. Serial 448110, coupon still attached.
Manhattan Day, October 21, 1893, was New York City's day at the exposition, and the ticket printed for it is given over to the Statue of Liberty, dedicated in New York Harbor seven years earlier and shown here against the harbor and its shipping.
The serial 448110 is printed in red on both the coupon and the ticket proper, with the facsimile signature of H. N. Higinbotham as president of the exposition. Under the vignette runs the imprint of the Western Bank Note Company of Chicago, which printed it. The reverse is an engraved panel in violet, with an octagonal rosette on the coupon.
The coupon is still joined along its perforation and reads NOT GOOD IF DETACHED. There is light foxing at the left edge of the coupon. Condition: please see the photographs.
