1893 World's Columbian Exposition Children's Special Ticket V 191807
$45
AvailableGood for one admission at the children's pay gates, any day of the fair's run. Letter V, serial 191807.
Not a day ticket. This one is headed for the whole run of the exposition, 1ST MAY TO 30TH OCTOBER, 1893, which are the exact dates the grounds were open to the public, and the reverse states what it buys: GOOD FOR ONE ADMISSION AT CHILDREN'S PAY GATES.
The face is printed in brown on card over a woven ground, with the letter V and the serial 191807 struck in red at lower left. The signature is the detail that separates this issue from the day tickets: it is Edward B. Butler, chairman of the Bureau of Admissions and Collections, where the Chicago Day and Manhattan Day tickets carry H. N. Higinbotham as president. The reverse is printed in green over a lathework ground.
