Available

Whitman's blue Great Britain minor type album, number 9516, copyright 1961, empty and ready to fill.

Whitman Publishing's Great Britain Minor Type Set album, number 9516, copyright 1961 and printed in Racine, Wisconsin. Blue boards with the gilt Whitman border on the front and the title on the spine. The pages lay out the twentieth century British minors by monarch and date range: farthing and halfpenny from Edward VII forward, then penny, silver threepence, brass threepence and sixpence. An essay inside the front board explains the 1920 reduction of the silver standard, the move to cupro-nickel in 1947, the dropping of IND IMP after Indian independence, and the Maundy coinage. The back board carries Whitman's list of the other albums in the series, American and Canadian. The album is empty; every opening is open. Boards and hinges are sound with light rubbing at the corners and along the spine. Offered as an album to fill, not as a coin lot.
