1961 John F. Kennedy Inauguration Honored Guest Ticket White House East Row T Seat 20

A full, unused Honored Guest ticket to the inaugural parade of 20 January 1961, printed by the Globe Ticket Company of Philadelphia. The end stubs read Honored Guest, WHITE HOUSE EAST, and WHITE HOUSE EAST - SOUTH SIDE OF PENNSYLVANIA AVE, the seating beside the President's reviewing stand. No price appears on the ticket; the Honored Guest sections were issued by invitation rather than sold. Row T, seat 20. Both end stubs are still attached to the centre panel with the Great Seal in blue. The reverse is the lithographed Capitol panorama with portraits of Kennedy and Johnson. Eight inches of snow fell on Washington the night before and the parade went ahead anyway, which is a large part of why so many 1961 tickets survive untorn.
