2009 Barack Obama Signed and Inscribed White House Photograph to Chita Rivera

An official White House photograph of President Barack Obama, Chita Rivera and First Lady Michelle Obama in the Blue Room on 12 August 2009, the day Rivera received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. She is wearing it in the picture. The President has written across the lower part of the image in black ink: "To Chita - With the greatest admiration!" and signed it. The print is 10 by 8 inches. The reverse carries the White House Photo Office release notice restricting the image to personal use. The other prints from this estate are credited on the back to Samantha Appleton, who photographed the day's ceremonies. Sixteen people received the medal that afternoon. This was the honoree's own photograph of the moment, inscribed to her by the President who presented it, and it comes directly from her estate. Not submitted to a third-party authentication service.
